Dr. Gretchen A. Schmutz is a psychologist and psychoanalyst practicing in Chicago. Dr. Schmutz has been in private practice for more than 20 years treating a broad spectrum of difficulties in adults, children, and adolescents. For many years, Dr. Schmutz was a consultant for Little Friends, Inc. providing case consultation, workshops, and seminars for teachers and therapists in special education high schools, workshops, supported employment programs, and groups homes. Dr. Schmutz has taught in a variety of settings including Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Institute for Clinical Social Work. In her early career, Dr. Schmutz held joint appointments as a Staff Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and as Director of Psychology for an obesity clinic at Lutheran General Hospital.
